My not so Hobby.....

My not so Hobby.....The Ink Boxes...

When I am bored I find myself browsing Google images. I started seeing alot t-shirt that pointed back to Cafepress.com, which happens to sell these t-shirts. Being the curious mind that I am I explore farther and discover that I can create my own t-shirts and sell them from my own store.

I then add two more designs "Splashes of Pink" and "Beautiful".
All my designs at this point were created in Microsoft PowerPoint.

The Pink Ink Box in Cafepress.com is considered a basic eStore and is free to start and maintain. This was great because this was at this point just a new toy as it were.

As I spent more time with my new hobby I realized my limitations of this basic eStore. I could only add one product with a design on it. And as I designed and improved my designs I wanted them on more t-shirts. It was at least a couple of years for that desire for more to make me look for more.

I explored other t-shirt design sites and found Zazzle.com and discovered sooooo many different  products to put my designs on and like the basic eStore at Cafepress.com I could also create my eStore for free and sell. I decided to call this eStore "The Ink Box" ( http://www.zazzle.com/theinkbox ). I still incorporated all the above designs. I created our first Ink Box logo - a box with flair......

This is the evolution of our logo

and this evolved into our present logo ......

I then found the third site that I use. It was Spreadshirt.com. (http://theinkbox.spreadshirt.com/) This site offered something different that the other did not. Spreadshirt has two different types of printing techniques: plot printing (flex and flock) and digital printing. Plot printing is known for its high quality and durability, while digital printing allows for multiple colors and gradients. These two techniques give the designer great flexibility when creating designs and Spreadshirt is the only major print on demand platform which offers both techniques.

It has a limited number of products unlike the first two, but has more printing types available. This site also allows for change in size and placement of my designs.....

With all these sites available to me, I decided to take a more serious approach to this not so hobby.........
